Chapter 2 · Basement

Chapter 2 Basement walkthrough

Treat the Basement as four tracked jobs: pull all levers, solve three puzzles, find the key, and escape. The three puzzle types visible in current footage are colored-object counting, a rotating picture board, and a paper-code keypad.

Why some videos say four puzzlesThe in-game UI counts three puzzles. Some creators call the separate lever objective a fourth puzzle. Follow the game’s objective list when the labels disagree.

Pull every lever

  1. Trace the red wires

Use the red wire lines as navigation. Follow each branch rather than searching the whole room at random.

  2. Check behind the SELL board

Current walkthrough footage shows an easy-to-miss lever behind the SELL sign, another near the Drone, and another in the rear corner behind the player’s starting view. Sweep the wire branches to confirm all three.

  3. Confirm the objective clears

Do not count from memory. The task list should show that all levers are pulled before you leave the area.

Solve the three puzzle types

1. Count the colored objects

Count the visible objects for each color, then enter the corresponding number beneath the matching colored statue or input. The values can differ between runs, so copy the method, not a number from somebody else’s video.

2. Rotate the picture tiles

Rotate the square panels until they form the alien illustration shown by the puzzle. Work from distinctive edges and the head/eye shapes, then correct the less obvious center tiles.

3. Find the paper digits and use the keypad

Inspect the papers scattered on the floor, record the digits in their presented order, and enter the result at the keypad. If it fails, recheck the paper order before trying random combinations. Two captured runs produced 1629 and 8886, which confirms that a fixed guide code is wrong.

Visual sourceTwo independent current walkthroughs show the same puzzle families. Use the three-puzzle run or the lever-plus-puzzles run if you need moving visual landmarks.

Find the key and escape

After the tracked puzzle work, continue clearing the large hay obstruction and follow the newly available route. The official completion badge describes the endpoint exactly: “You found the key and escaped the basement!” Use the objective UI to verify the key state before testing the exit.

Ignore the wrong Chapter 2 guides

One current ranking page describes a Fuse Room, Switch Hall, pipe network, and five fixed Vault needle spawns. Those mechanics do not appear in either current captured walkthrough, and the official badge describes a key-and-escape ending. We therefore exclude that route.

Common recovery checks

  • A lever objective still active: retrace every red wire branch and recheck behind the SELL board.
  • Colored input fails: recount only the objects belonging to that color in your current run.
  • Picture will not clear: compare edge continuity, then rotate the middle squares.
  • Keypad rejects the code: revisit the papers and verify order, not just the digits.
  • Exit does not complete: confirm the key objective changed before interacting again.
